Sue has a B.Mus.Ed. from the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver, plus two years' masters study in violin performance, and Suzuki Teacher Training. Sue studied piano as a young child, resumed lessons in college, and is qualified to teach through mid-intermediate. Her primary pedagogy is Faber, Piano Adventures, but also uses Hal Leonard or Alfred, depending on the student's needs. Theory and ear training are incorporated routinely into the lessons. My focus is developing musicality and expression through technique, self-awareness, listening, and playing a diverse repertoire. My mission is to help my students achieve their personal goals.

Teaching experience includes music education in the public schools as well as private teaching. The mission of this studio is to provide the students with a musical experience that will encourage a lifetime of musical enjoyment. The curriculum includes instruction in all aspects of music: repertoire and performance, music theory, technique, improvisation and creativity. The particular teaching method is selected depending on the specific needs of the student. Group learning experiences and opportunities to perform are scheduled throughout the school year.
