I enjoy teaching students of all ages, and do my best to create a positive learning environment for all of my students. With young beginners, I typically use the Faber series. With intermediate students I focus on appropriate literature with strong emphasis on exercises to improve technique. With advanced students we work on standard literature, music theory, and aural skills, so that by the end of high school the students are prepared to study music at the collegiate level if they so choose. I also work with adults and teach jazz improvisation.

Studied Suzuki and beyond with Kay Pitt for 9 years, studied jazz at VCU, graduated Magna Cum Laude (3.89.) Toured for two years with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, moved back home in '03 to take over the Suzuki business for Kay. Consistently the first call pianist for upscale restaurants/hotels, most recently the house pianist and music coordinator for the now defunct Carlton's fine dining and jazz club. My new studio is on the roof of that building.
