Elizabeth holds the D.M. degree from Indiana University and has over 15 years of experience teaching all ages and levels. She currently teaches at Longwood University, Mary Baldwin College, Eastern Mennonite University, and St. Anne's-Belfield School. A primary objective in her teaching is to help students develop a strong fundamental technique emphasizing good tone as well as facility, with the idea that this foundation will lead to greater enjoyment in music-making. She also works with students in building a strong rhythmic sense and in learning basic music theory. Her lessons focus on exploring musical expression in a variety of styles, playing duets to improve sight-reading and intonation, and call-and-response and improvisation games to improve listening skills. She draws on a variety of methods, depending on the individual interests and needs of the student. For more information about Elizabeth, please visit www.TerraVoce.com

I recently retired from 24 years of teaching clarinet at the University of Virginia. Before that I taught at other colleges and public schools. 45 years experience in teaching. I also teach recorders (soprano, alto, tenor or bass)of all levels using baroque and renaissance repertoire. Good sound, technique and varied repertoire are emphasized.
