Maxx has over 15 years experience teaching flute lessons. After receiving a Master's degree in Music from UVA, where she taught ear training and music theory classes, she started playing electric guitar and has toured nationally and in Europe playing guitar and keyboard in rock bands. She presently plays both classical and jazz flute professionally in the area. Maxx is happy to accommodate interest in a variety of flute-related areas including classical playing, jazz techniques, improvisation, theory and ear training. She uses a combination of Suzuki repertoire and additional technique methods according to the learning styles of the individual student.

Ages/Levels Accepted: Beginner to Intermediate ages 4
and up
Nicole is an active member of the Charlottesville Music Teachers Association (CMTA) and National Guild of Piano Teachers. She was the chairperson for the Pasadena Branch (Region 4) of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) for 5 years. She was also the chairperson for Composer Today, a division of MTAC, for 3 years before moving to Charlottesville in June 2005. Nicole has earned a Masters of Music and Arts degree from California State University Northridge (CSUN) and has been teaching piano since 1993.
