CMTA Piano Concerto Competition

CMTA offers a piano concerto competition annually for students aged 10-18. The winner receives the Betty Simmons $100 Prize and performs his/her concerto movement with the Youth Orchestra of Charlottesville/Albemarle at its May concert. For the competition, the contestants must prepare one movement from a concerto that has been approved in advance by the YOCA Music Director. The concerto is performed by memory with a second piano accompaniment.
